IN 1886

The history of the Club reaches back to 1886 when football was evolving in Melbourne. Our Club has played its small part in the development of Australian Rules to the place it now enjoys as Australia's most loved winter sport. From the Club's earliest days Williamstown CYMS has been more than a football and cricket club. it has been part of Williamstown's fabric and played a much larger role in the community. Community continues to be the core value of our Club and we continue to look for ways to celebrate our people and support the game. For example, Umpire Appreciation Day is now part of the AFL calendar, but it is worth remembering that this initiative began at the Fearon.
