The Williamstown CYMS Football Club held our Annual General Meeting on 13 October 2021.

We are pleased to announce that a new executive team was elected unopposed in the following positions:

  • Tess Beagley – Co-President

Tess is an established leader for women’s sport in Williamstown.  She was instrumental in founding our women’s football team 4 years ago, and in starting the first CYMS Women’s Cricket team last summer.  She has also worked tirelessly on the committee over the last couple of years leading the events and women’s portfolio. Having worked closely with players, Tess understands the opportunities for improvement across the CYMS women’s program, and hopes to drive this change in her new role.

  • Fin Adamson – Co-President

Fin played for the club from 2009 to 2019, culminating with his final three years as captain of our senior men’s team. This has allowed him to build strong relationships across the current players and our wider football community. These relationships, in combination with his leadership and project management skills, are highly valued as he seeks to drive the club’s new direction beyond 2021.

  • Dan Oldham – Vice President

Olds is a life-member of the football club and holds a club record for the second-most games played.  He has captained, coached and previously been on the committee. His intimate ties with the CY’s community, and legal expertise, are especially beneficial to the executive team.

  • Matt Wynd – Vice President

Wyndy has extensive experience leading football clubs, having spent time at Spotswood Football Club and Werribee Football Club. Wyndy joined the CYMS community in 2013 as our men’s reserve coach before progressing to coach the thirds and then the fourths. Wyndy’s focus will be on managing our commercial and financial operations moving forward.

As a new executive team we are excited to take the club into 2022 and beyond with direction focused on inclusion and community – a safe and rewarding place for girls and boys, men and women of all ages.

The club enters 2022 with 8 teams  – an amazing opportunity for our players, as well as our supporters and sponsors.

The club will be conducting interviews for coaching positions for 2022, and we are excited to announce our new Senior Men’s coach for 2022 in the coming days.

We credit the players and our wider football community for driving the decision to reverse the previous coaching appointment. This is a testament to the strong values of our playing group across all teams. Our player’s statement on this can be read here.

We look forward to sharing our vision and strategic direction of the football club  in the near future.  We also thank the departing executive team for their tireless work, particularly over the last two Covid impacted years, in managing the club leaving us in such an exciting position for season 2022.
