Peck becomes our new GM of Football for 2022

Author: Daniel Cross

It is with great pleasure that the Williamstown CYMS Football Club can share that Nicholas Peck has been appointed as our General Manager of Football for season 2022.

The role of Football Manager is a new position created in recognition of the growth of the club in recent years and the amount of work required to manage the running of our football and commercial operations in conjunction with our committee and volunteers.

With eight teams and over 200 players Nick will be working 2-to-3 days per week to help the club with coordination, management and support of all off-field football activities at the Williamstown CYMS Football Club.

Born and raised here in Williamstown, Nick has always been passionate and involved in the local sport scene, especially football. He played footy for Williamstown Juniors from the ages of 8 until 17. Not wanting to step away from football completely, when Nick’s playing days at Willy Juniors came to an end, he looked for opportunities to stay involved in the game in off-field roles.

Nick is no stranger to the CY’s, having been involved in a volunteer capacity since 2015. His roles have included water-boying the senior men’s team for a few seasons, before moving into the position of match day statistician for Con Terzoglou’s U19’s team for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Nick also brings with him a wide array of industry experience. He is currently the longest serving employee in the retail department for his beloved Collingwood Football Club, having been there since 2016. This role has given Nick a unique perspective of both strategic and operational initiatives of a successful football club. He also worked for the Williamstown Football Club and the Melbourne Football Club last season, working in the retail team at the Demons and doing ticketing for the Seagulls.

Supporting all of his practical experience, Nick is also due to graduate from his degree in Public Relations this year. Nick comes to the CY’s with the perfect balance of practical work experience as well as a strong academic background.

All of that combined, with Nick’s optimistic and affable personality, will ensure his success in this critical role.

Join us in welcoming Nick to the club as our General Manager of Football.
