The Williamstown CYMS FC is seeking a Head Coach of our U19s Premier team, to lead our Unders program which consists of 3 teams in the VAFA U19s competition.
Our Club
The Williamstown CYMS is a strong community club that fields 8 teams in the VAFA with its Men’s senior team playing in the Premier B Division. The club has strong community links that it has grown over the course of its 135 year history.
The U19s Head Coach role is a highly valued role within the Williamstown CYMS FC, with the 19s program having a strong history of developing strong successful senior players, while providing young men with a positive and encouraging football environment. The program’s success has seen many players successfully transition into the senior men’s program and is an essential component of the Football Williamstown player pathway which includes, the Williamstown Junior FC, the CYs Senior men’s program and Williamstown FC.
Applicants for the following position should be able to demonstrate the following:
Strong values and beliefs: Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of a positive, inclusive and respectful culture.
Communication: A strong communicator on and off the field, who values clear messaging and feedback as part of their coaching.
Pathway Contribution: Working with the Senior Coach to transition players into open-age football and working with Williamstown Juniors on a smooth transition for the U16s boys.
Role model: Displays characteristics of positive role model to young men.
Program Management: Demonstrate the ability to implement effective systems and processes to oversee a multi-team program, while leading the Premier U19s team.
Education: Has a strong understanding of the fundamentals of football and how to effectively implement these fundamentals into a holistic football program.
Player development: Understands the stages of player development and the ability to implement these understandings into a successful program.
Experience: Has a strong football background in playing and/or coaching.
Both experienced and aspiring coaches are encouraged to apply and will be supported by an experienced Director of Coaching and an established support group. Remuneration to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
